How Do I Install the Hotmart Analytics Tracking Code on My Website?

To allow Hotmart Analytics to track your visitors' behavior and provide accurate data on their sales journey, you must install the tracking code correctly on your pages. This code acts as a communication bridge between your website and Hotmart.

In this article, you'll learn where to find this code in your account, how to add it to the HTML of external pages, and the main differences between this tracking method and the Tracking Pixel.

Where Can I Find My Tracking Code in Analytics?

Before starting the installation on your page, you need to locate your tracking code in Analytics. Follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Sales and then Sales Management.
  3. Click the Hotmart Analytics icon on the right side.
  4. In the Analytics dashboard, click the Tracking code button in the upper-right corner.
  5. There, you’ll see a section dedicated to your Tracking Code. This code is a small block of text that you must copy in its entirety for tracking to work correctly.

Important: Do not change any characters in this block to avoid data transmission errors.

Why Is This Code Different From the Tracking Pixel?

A common question is the difference between the Analytics Tracking Code and a Tracking Pixel (such as Meta or Google Ads). While both handle data, they serve different purposes:

  • Tracking Pixel: Configured in the Hotmart Tools menu, it sends conversion data to external ad platforms. For more information, check out this article.
  • Hotmart Analytics Tracking Code: Feeds Hotmart's internal behavior reports, such as the Views and Conversions tabs.

How Do I Install the Code on External Pages?

If you use your own websites, such as WordPress blogs or sales pages built on external platforms, you must install the code manually. Insert the code inside your site's header tag, known as <head>.

By placing the code in the header, it will load on every visit, allowing Hotmart to track the user journey from their very first visit up to the moment they click through to checkout.

Google Tag Manager

If you use Google Tag Manager (GTM), simply create a new Custom HTML tag, paste the code, and set the trigger to All Pages.

WordPress

If your site is built on WordPress, you can easily do this using a plugin:

  1. In your WordPress Dashboard, go to the side menu, click Plugins, and select Add New.
  2. In the search field, look for the extension called Head, Footer and Post Injections.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate, and refresh the page.
  4. Next, go to the WordPress Settings side menu and click Head and Footer.
  5. In the text box for the SECTION INJECTION option, paste the tracking code you copied from Hotmart Analytics.
  6. Click Save to complete the automatic site-wide activation.
Leadlovers

If you manage your marketing structure through Leadlovers, the process is managed within your delivery settings:

  1. Log in to your account, go to the top menu, and click Machines (Máquinas).
  2. Select the specific machine where your sales pages are hosted, and click the Settings tab in its internal dashboard.
  3. Next, find and select the Global Scripts (Head) option, and paste your Hotmart tracking code into the blank script space.
  4. Click Save (Salvar).

Important: Leadlovers, WordPress, and GTM are external tools independent of Hotmart. Because of this, screen names, options, and workflows may change at any time without notice. If you have specific questions about these setups, we recommend checking their official documentation or contacting their support teams.

How Do I Configure the Tracking Code Using Hotmart Pages?

If you build your sales pages and landing pages using Hotmart Pages, the process depends on your tracking goals:

  • To insert the tracking code to collect visit and click data for Analytics, go to Pages and add the code to your chosen page. You can find the step-by-step guide in this article.
  • However, if your tracking goal involves capturing leads using the Lead Attribution tool, the process is different and requires Hotmart Send for its setup. Check out the step-by-step instructions in this article.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install the tracking code on more than one domain?

Yes, you can use the same code across different domains that belong to your products. However, remember to register these domains within your Analytics settings so the tool knows which websites to monitor under your account.

Does the tracking code slow down my website's loading speed?

No. The Hotmart Analytics script is lightweight and designed to load asynchronously, meaning it won't block other elements on your page from loading.

Installing it correctly in the <head> ensures tracking works seamlessly without affecting your visitors' user experience.

Why is my Analytics data showing zero even though the code is installed?

This usually happens for a few reasons: the code was pasted outside the <head> tag, or there is a conflict with your website's caching plugins. Try clearing your website and browser cache, then test it again.

Additionally, keep in mind that Analytics data can take at least 24 hours to update.

Does the tracking code replace UTM parameter setup?

No. The code allows Analytics to detect traffic, but UTM parameters (like utm_source or utm_campaign) are still necessary to know exactly which ad or link brought in each visitor.

The tracking code simply enables Analytics to "read" these UTMs and organize them into your reports.
