What is the card security code (CVV)?

Buying products at Hotmart is easy and safe. Below, we'll explain what the security code required for card purchases is.

The card security code (CVV) consists of three or four digits printed on credit and debit cards. It's also known as CVV2, card security code (CSC), or card identification number (CID).

When making a purchase on our platform, it is essential to fill in the necessary information on the payment page for the product you want. If you have any doubts, please consult this article, which guides you through filling in the details during the purchase.

When entering these details, we also ask for the card's security code (CVV) as an additional security measure. Please note that this number will not be stored in our system, but will be used exclusively to verify your card during the processing of the transaction, ensuring greater security for the purchase process.

You'll find the three-digit number on the back of your Visa or MasterCard, next to the signature strip, as in the image below:

If your card is American Express, the CVV is a four-digit number located on the front of the card.

If your card doesn't have this security code, it may not be enabled for international purchases. In this case, you can contact your bank to request permission for this type of purchase.

Once you have completed your purchase, you will receive the access link to the product you purchased in your e-mail address.
