How to create a livestream in your Hotmart Members Area (Beta)

Important: this feature is still in the testing phase. Available only to some Producers.

Anyone with a product registered in the Hotmart Members’ Area can now create lives (live streamings) for students. That is yet another way to deliver out-of-the-box content and increase audience engagement.

Check out the step-by-step guide on how to create a live stream:

  1. Access your Hotmart account using the link: https://app.hotmart.com/login
  2. At the side menu, select Products
  3. Click Hotmart Club
  4. On Products, access the desired product
  5. If you want to add the content to a new module, click + Create Module
  6. If you want to create content in a module that already exists, locate the module and, on the Add menu, select the Live option
  7. Then, a Live Creation screen will open, where you must choose the Broadcasting Method. If it is YouTube or Vimeo, insert the video link. Important: it must be a live stream link from YouTube or Vimeo. These are streaming services that allow you to talk to multiple people at the same time.
  8. Then, enter the title, description, date, and time of the broadcast
  9. When the transmission takes place via Hotmart, click on the desired thumbnail and choose to leave the image that will be the highlight of your event (the thumbnail).
  10. Choose Save and Return
  11. So, on the modules screen, choose the live stream module and click Publish

How to make live streaming available for your YouTube account


Follow the step-by-step instructions below:

  1. Log in to YouTube with your Google account
  2. On the upper right corner, click the camera icon
  3. Click on the Go Live option
  4. Important: to enable the streaming tool, you must verify your YouTube account. To do this, click Activate.
  5. Then click Check
  6. Choose your country and how you would like to receive the verification code
  7. Add your number and click Send
  8. Enter the verification code and click Send

That’s it! Wait for your account to be activated, which can happen within 24 hours. After activating, you can go live on YouTube, whether using your smartphone or your computer's webcam.

Chat during a live stream

Enable the chat feature in the upper right corner. With this feature, you can allow your audience to chat and ask questions with you while the live stream takes place. That is your opportunity to create an even closer relationship with your audience!


Important:

  • You can enable/disable the chat at any time.
  • Inappropriate comments may be deleted.
  • It is possible to respond comment by comment.

How to create live stream triggers (offer button)


Triggers are highlighted links fixed on the screen within your live stream chat. With them, you can stimulate higher audience engagement and offer other products to make live sales. Follow the step-by-step below:

  1. Access the already created live stream.
  2. Click on the Triggers tab.
  3. Choose New Trigger.
  4. Now click on External Link (CTA). A CTA (call to action) is a button with an objective and eye-catching text that should get your audience's attention.
  5. To make the trigger more interesting, customize the trigger and CTA text.
  6. Then, define whether this is a scarcity trigger, that is, it has a defined display time.
  7. To give it even more personality, choose the main background color of the button.
  8. Insert an external link. It could be your payment page, for example.
  9. Click on Save Changes and activate at the desired time.

Important: Only one trigger can be displayed at a time.


How to create highlighted messages in the chat

  1. Access the already created live stream.
  2. Click on the Triggers tab.
  3. Choose New Trigger.
  4. Now click Highlight.
  5. To make the trigger more interesting, customize the trigger text.
  6. Then, define whether this is a scarcity trigger, that is, it has a defined display time.
  7. To give it even more personality, choose the main background color of the button.
  8. Click on Save Changes and activate at the desired time.

Important: Only one trigger can be displayed at a time.

Is it possible to do the live streams via Zoom or Google Meet?
Live streams at the Club are not proper for Producers who want a broadcast format in which everyone can be seen on camera, and speak through the microphone, and the audience can get split into groups (breakout rooms).

Is the video recorded automatically?
Automatic recording will depend on the broadcasting method used: YouTube or Vimeo. However, once the recording is ready, it is possible to make it available through the Hotmart Members’ Area so that your students can watch it as many times as they want or for a set amount of time, as they prefer.

How to sell the recording?
To sell recordings of live lessons, you can create additional modules within the existing product. This way, you release the recordings for an extra fee, and they stay centralized within the same members’ area.

What is the difference between a Live Stream in the Club and the Webinar tool?
The Webinar is a tool for live broadcasting, selling your product, and capturing potential buyers (leads). The Live Stream in the Club is for you to deliver live content to those who already are your students, as a way of complementing content and continuing engagement and sales strategies.

What is the difference between a Live Stream in the Club and an Online Event?
The Online Event is a format for experience with a start and end date, and consequently, it will also have a limited sales period. Live Stream in the Club is for online courses hosted in the Hotmart Members’ Area, whose sales period can be longer (perpetual).
