How does Hotmart Send identify phishing practices?

The security of communications sent through Hotmart is essential to protect both creators and the contacts who receive messages via the platform. In the digital environment, one of the most common illegal practices is phishing, which can cause losses, compromise data, and affect trust in communications.

In this article, you’ll understand what phishing is, how Hotmart Send works to prevent this type of practice, and what happens when Campaigns or Automations show signs of this behavior within the platform.

What is phishing?

Phishing is an illegal practice that uses fake messages to mislead people and obtain sensitive information, such as passwords, personal data, or financial details. These messages often impersonate legitimate communications from companies, institutions, or known individuals, creating a false sense of trust for the recipient.

Even without requiring advanced technical knowledge, phishing is one of the most common digital frauds. This is because it exploits the attention and trust of recipients, increasing the chances of deception and misuse of collected information.

How does Hotmart Send help prevent phishing?

Hotmart Send adopts measures to maintain a safe environment for all users and protect the contact databases registered on the platform. For this reason, Campaigns and Automations go through review processes designed to identify patterns associated with irregular practices, such as phishing.

In some cases, this analysis may take up to 24 hours. When creation occurs on weekends or holidays, the process begins on the next business day. This precaution helps preserve the integrity of sends, protect contacts, and maintain the reliability of communications carried out through Hotmart.

During the setup of Campaigns and Automations, you can define whether, after approval, they will be sent or published automatically, or remain paused until a manual action. This option helps with planning and prevents unexpected changes to your schedule.

When organizing your communications, it’s important to consider this review timeframe to ensure that your Campaign or Automation is activated at the expected time.

What happens after a Campaign or Automation is reviewed?

After the review carried out by Hotmart Send, two scenarios may occur:

  • When phishing is confirmed: If phishing practices are identified, access to Hotmart Send may be blocked, as stated in the platform’s Terms of Use. In this case, the creator receives an email notification with information about the action taken and the option to download the existing contacts from their database. If there is an attempt to access Hotmart Send after the block, a page will be displayed with more details about the reason for the suspension.
  • When the Campaign or Automation is approved: If the review is completed without identifying any irregularities, approval is communicated via email. From that point, the Campaign or Automation is either sent or published automatically, or remains paused, depending on the configuration set during creation. If the option chosen is to keep it paused, it will need to be resent, rescheduled, or manually published to go live.

The measures adopted by Hotmart Send aim to protect the platform, its users, and contact databases. To avoid restrictions and ensure continuity of communications, it is essential to follow best sending practices and comply with Hotmart’s Terms of Use.

Maintaining clear, legitimate communications aligned with the platform’s rules contributes to a safer and more reliable environment for everyone involved.
