How to send WhatsApp 1:1 messages in Hotmart Send?

Hotmart Send’s WhatsApp 1:1 feature allows you to send individual messages to your registered contacts, making it easier to build relationships with leads and customers. With this feature, you can create personalized outreach, follow up on sales opportunities, and maintain organized communication directly through WhatsApp.

In this article, you’ll learn what WhatsApp 1:1 is, the requirements to use it, how to send messages step by step, and how to manage contact statuses within the tool.

 

What is WhatsApp 1:1 in Hotmart Send?

WhatsApp 1:1 is a feature that allows you to have one-on-one conversations with contacts already registered in your Hotmart database.

It can be used for different purposes, such as:

  • Selling to new contacts (leads) who signed up through forms.
  • Recovering sales from people who started a purchase but didn’t complete the payment.
  • Talking to existing customers by offering new products or add-ons.

Communication is individual and manual, allowing you to tailor the message based on each contact’s context.

Important: for a contact to be available for messaging, their phone number or WhatsApp number must be registered in your database. For this reason, it’s recommended to include this field in your forms and checkout pages.

 

What do I need before sending messages?

Before starting to send messages via WhatsApp 1:1, you need to:

  • Be connected to WhatsApp Web.
  • Have contacts with a valid phone number in your database.
  • Stay within the contact limit allowed by your subscription plan.

The number of contacts available for communication depends on your plan. If the limit is reached, additional contacts will be temporarily unavailable, just like with email sending in Hotmart Send.

 

How to send messages via WhatsApp 1:1?1?

Messages are sent manually, one contact at a time. To send:

  1. Go to https://web.whatsapp.com/ and connect your WhatsApp to the browser by scanning the QR code with your phone.
  2. Access your account via http://app.hotmart.com.
  3. From the side menu, click Marketing and then Email marketing.
  4. Inside Hotmart Send, select WhatsApp Web from the side menu.
  5. Choose the communication objective:
    • Sell to new contacts
    • Recover sales
    • Talk to your customers
  6. The contact list will be displayed according to the selected objective.
  7. Edit the message, adjusting the content as needed.
  8. Select the contact and click Send message.
  9. WhatsApp Web will open in a new tab with the message ready.
  10. Click Start conversation on WhatsApp and confirm the sending.
  11. Return to Hotmart Send and update the contact Status to reflect the result of the message.

Repeat the process for each contact you want to reach out to.

 

How to manage contacts and track conversations?

Within WhatsApp 1:1, contacts are organized from most recent to oldest, based on the subscription date.

For each contact, you can view:

  • Name
  • Subscription date
  • Form
  • Communication status

A contact may appear in more than one communication objective. For example, someone may have signed up through a form and also abandoned a purchase. In such cases, they will appear both in the new contacts list and in the sales recovery list.

 

How do statuses work?

Keeping statuses updated helps organize your communication flow and quickly identify who has already been contacted. The available statuses are:

  • Not sent: initial contact status.
  • Sent: indicates that the first message has been sent.
  • Messagem failed to send: used when the provided number is incorrect or not found on WhatsApp.

Updating the status after each attempt helps avoid duplicate outreach and makes it easier to track conversations.
