How to set up a custom domain on Hotmart Club?

Setting up a custom domain on Hotmart Club is a great way to elevate your brand and create a stronger connection with your students.

A custom domain is a unique web address (like www.yourbrand.com) that represents your members area. This helps your brand stand out and enhances your business's credibility by replacing the default Hotmart Club address with one that better reflects your brand identity.

The main benefits of using a custom domain on Hotmart Club include:

  • Professionalism and credibility: it presents a more trustworthy image to your students.
  • Brand recognition: it strengthens your brand identity, making it more memorable.
  • User experience: it makes access and navigation easier for your students.
  • Security: it provides additional protection with SSL technology, ensuring a secure, encrypted connection between the server and the client.

To set up your custom domain on Hotmart Club, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com/.
  2. In the upper right corner, click on the nine-dot menu, then select Hotmart Club.
  3. Choose the Club you want to configure.
  4. In the left-side menu, click on Settings.
  5. Under the General information tab, you’ll see the name and current URL of your Hotmart Club.
  6. Click on the Set up your own domain button to start the process.
  7. Enter the domain you’ve registered and want to use. Ensure that it’s valid, properly registered, and that all payments are up to date.
  8. After entering the domain, click Configure and then Ok, got it.
  9. You’ll be redirected to the previous page. In the Custom Domain section, add the required DNS entries. Include the CNAME record and ensure that the A and AAAA records are correctly configured.
    a.
If the domain has been used elsewhere before Hotmart Club, you may need to review the settings to ensure everything works correctly.
    b.
If you use an external video player, remember to enable the Hotmart domain and the new domain in the player settings to ensure the videos play correctly.
  10. Wait up to 72 hours for the domain to fully update. You can monitor the status, which will change from In process to Configured.

Done! Once configured and updated, your students will be able to access your members area through your new custom domain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I can't find the options described in the steps?

The domain configuration is only available for products that have been added to Hotmart Club. If you do not see the options mentioned, it's likely that your product is not yet linked to a members area.

To learn how to add your product to Hotmart Club and take full advantage of the members area features, check out this article on how to add products to the Club.

How can I create and register a domain?

You can purchase and register a domain name with any Domain Registrar, such as GoDaddy, 1&1, Netregistry, or Register.com. Each registrar has its own process for registering domains and subdomains. We recommend consulting the help section of the site where you registered the domain for detailed instructions.

What should I do to resolve DNS pointing issues?

The DNS and CNAME pointing configuration is done directly through the provider where you registered your domain. Hotmart provides the necessary data for you to set up the pointing in your registrar's control panel.

If you've recently made changes, remember that it may take a few hours or even a day for the changes to propagate through the DNS system, depending on the TTL (Time To Live) settings you've defined. If you have questions about how link redirection works, contact your domain provider's support.

How do I set up the subdomain for my product’s course management?

For products that are not added to a members area, you can change the course link’s subdomain. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Products in the left-hand menu and select My products.
  2. Choose the product you want to set up that is not yet linked to a members area.
  3. In the Course management section, click to access it.
  4. In the left-hand menu, go to Settings.
  5. In the Data tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and find the Host mapping section.
  6. Change the subdomain as needed and click Save.

Important: Changing the subdomain does not remove the ".club.hotmart.com" domain from the URL.
