How to use Hotmart’s Top Picks to suggest products and boost sales?

Hotmart’s Top Picks is a solution that leverages Hotmart’s data intelligence to suggest relevant products to your customers. With this feature, buyers who complete a purchase or while consuming content inside the Classroom (Hotmart Club) can see complementary or related products, increasing your chances of conversions and driving more sales.

In this article, you’ll learn how Hotmart’s Top Picks works, the requirements for activation, and how to configure the solution’s main options.

 

What is Hotmart’s Top Picks, and how does it work?

Hotmart’s Top Picks suggests products to customers immediately after they complete a purchase, displayed on the Thank You Page, product page (Club)  and while they are watching your content in the Classroom (Hotmart Club). Think of it as offering a valuable add-on to enhance the buyer's experience.

Imagine the following scenarios: A customer purchases your cooking course. As soon as the transaction is completed, they see your recipe eBook recommended on the Thank You Page. This combination not only adds value to their purchase but also increases the likelihood of a new conversion.

When the customer accesses the product page to start or continue classes, a recommendation will appear above the modules.

With the experience in the Classroom, they receive a purchase recommendation for another product between lessons, while they're still engaged with the content on Hotmart Club.


How to activate Hotmart’s Top Picks?

Hotmart’s Top Picks is a solution automatically activated on accounts of creators with at least two products available for sale. This means that if you meet this requirement, you don’t need to set anything up to start using the tool.

Still, you're free to turn the feature on or off based on your business strategy.

To change the status of this functionality, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Hotmart platform: https://app.hotmart.com
  2. On the left-hand menu, click on Tools and select Show all.
  3. Find Hotmart’s Top Picks in the list of tools. You can also use the search bar to make it easier.
  4. Click on Hotmart’s Top Picks to access the control panel.

From the panel, you can easily manage whether the tool is enabled or not. When you enable or disable Hotmart’s Top Picks, the change will apply to all recommendation channels.

Note that there are some situations in which the feature, even when enabled, won’t be applied to recommendations on the Thank‑You Page:

  • On payment pages that use a Sales Funnel or an external Thank You Page.
  • For purchases made using payment methods other than credit cards.

For recommendations in the Classroom, the products must be active for sale and hosted within Hotmart Club. Additionally, the product being recommended cannot be an ad or part of a bundle offer.

 

Frequent asked questions

How can I track my sales results with Hotmart’s Top Picks?

You can track the results of sales made through Hotmart’s Top Picks by using the Sales Report available on the platform:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select My sales.
  2. Export the file using the detailed model, in the format of your choice.
  3. In the report, look out for two key columns:
  • "Channel used for sale" column: shows where the sale was made, such as in the Club Classroom or on the Thank You Page.
  • "Sales tool" column: indicates which tool generated the sale. If the sale came from Hotmart’s Top Picks, it will be shown here.

How do I remove a product from recommendations?

If you have products you prefer not to include in Hotmart’s Top Picks on the Thank‑You Page, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Hotmart through the link https://app.hotmart.com/
  2. In the left sidebar menu, click on Tools and Show all.
  3. Click on Payment settings.
  4. Select the product you don’t want to recommend.
  5. Look for Hotmart’s Top Picks section.
  6. In Offer eligible for recommendations select None.
  7. Then click on Save. 
     
    To exclude a product from Hotmart’s Top Picks inside Hotmart Club, please reach out to our support team.

Can I customize the price of the recommended product?

Yes. The price displayed to the customer will always be the base price of the product. However, you can change which offer is shown on the thank you page. 
Here's how to change the offer shown in the recommendation on the thank you page:

  1. Log in to Hotmart through the link https://app.hotmart.com/
  2. In the left-hand side menu, click on Tools and Show all.
  3. Select the Payment Configuration option.
  4. Choose the product you want to edit the offer for.
  5. Scroll down to the Hotmart’s Top Picks Settings section.
  6. Select the offer you want and click Save.
