What are Promotional Links and how to share them?

Promotional Links, also known as Hotlinks, are essential tools for creators and affiliates using Hotmart. These automatically generated links allow for product promotion and ensure commissions are correctly assigned to the person who made the sale or created the product.

What are Hotlinks, and how do they work?

Hotlinks are unique URLs with tracking codes automatically generated by Hotmart. These codes identify who promoted and sold each product, ensuring the amounts are calculated accurately for creators and affiliates.

A Hotlink follows this basic structure:

  • http://www.go.hotmart.com/XYZ, where XYZ is the unique identification code linked to the account of the person promoting the product.

When a sale is made through a Hotlink, Hotmart’s system tracks the purchase’s origin and automatically distributes the commission according to the percentage defined in the Affiliate Program. What are the types of Hotlinks available?

When creating or promoting a product on Hotmart, different types of Hotlinks are automatically generated for creators and affiliates. Each link serves a specific purpose, helping to meet diverse marketing strategies and ensuring commissions are tracked properly.

❯ Below, you’ll find the Hotlinks that are automatically available for creators and affiliates:

  • Sales Page link: Directs buyers to the official sales page of the product in Hotmart’s Marketplace. This is ideal for campaigns that showcase the product’s details, benefits, and reviews to a broader audience.
  • Product Page link: If the creator has set up an external sales page for their product (outside the Hotmart environment), this link will take buyers to that customized page. ❯ And these are the Hotlinks available to affiliates when configured by creators:

  • Checkout Page link: Redirects buyers directly to the checkout page, allowing them to complete their purchase without visiting the sales page. Creators must enable this option in the Additional links tab for affiliates to use it.
  • Custom Checkout Page link: If the creator has personalized the checkout page using the "Checkout Builder" tool, this link takes buyers to the customized version. Like the standard checkout link, it must be added in the Additional links tab for affiliates to access it with the correct tracking code.

  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com/.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Products, then My products.
  3. Make sure you’re on the I’m a creator tab, and find the desired product.
  4. To access the promotional links, click the link icon to the right of the Promote Product button.
  5. You’ll be redirected to the Promotional links page in your product’s dashboard.
  6. Click on the Additional links tab and select Create additional link.
  7. Give the link a name that will be visible to your affiliates, and add the desired URL. When finished, click Create promotional link.
  8. That’s it! Once confirmed, the link will automatically be reflected for all your affiliates and linked to their individual tracking codes.

 

How to access my Hotlinks?

The steps to access your Hotlinks depend on whether you’re a creator or an affiliate. Follow the instructions below:

❯ If you’re a creator, click here.
  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com/.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Products, then My products.
  3. Make sure you’re on the I’m a creator tab.
  4. Find the product you want, and to access the promotional links, click the link icon to the right of the Promote Product button.
  5. You’ll be redirected to the Promotional links page, where you’ll see the following tabs:
    • Main links: This is where you’ll find all the links generated by Hotmart to promote and sell the selected product.
    • Additional links: Add links to pages or content related to the product and make them available for affiliates to promote and sell. This is ideal for registering links for offers, plans, checkout pages, and custom checkout pages. Learn more in this article.
    • Other channels: Provide your domains, so affiliates can create their own commission-tracked links. Learn more in this article.
    • Promotional material: Upload images, videos, and other materials affiliates can use in their sales strategies. Learn more in this article.

  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com/.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Products, then My products.
  3. Make sure you’re on the I’m an affiliate tab.
  4. Find the product you want, and to access the promotional links, click the link icon located to the left of the Promote Product button.
  5. On the Promotional Links page, you’ll see the following tabs:
    • Links for affiliates: Includes all the links Hotmart and the creator have made available for you to promote and sell the product.
    • Links I've created: Contains the links you’ve created using the domains provided by the creator. Learn more by clicking here.
    • Promotional material: Includes images, videos, and other resources shared by the creator to help affiliates with their marketing strategies.

 

How to share my promotional links?

Besides copying the link directly, Hotmart offers other options to make sharing easier. To access these options, go to the Promotional links page and click:

  • Download QR Code: Instantly generate a QR code with the embedded link. Perfect for use in flyers, posters, and presentations.

If the creator updates the sales page URL, affiliates will need to generate a new optimized link. The old link will no longer function correctly, which may affect ongoing campaigns.
