Who can use it?

In order to use this tool, your product needs to fit the following criterion:

  • Be a subscription product offered in BRL (Brazilian Real), MXN (Mexican Peso) or COP (Colombian Peso).

It is important to emphasize that this solution is for Producers only, and the only accepted payment methods are: bank payment slip and Pix (BRL), OXXO (MXN) and Efecty (COP).

What type of negotiation can be offered?

Within the system, it’s possible to make three types of agreement:

  • Negotiation of Overdue Installments

Performed when the customer wishes to pay an overdue installment(s). Once it is paid, the following charges remain with the same due date, since the customer is paying for overdue charges.

  • Anticipation of Installments

In this case, the customer will pay the charges that have not been generated by the system yet, but that he or she wants to anticipate.

When this negotiation is paid for, the system automatically changes the date of the next subscription charge and the subscription recurrence number, to ensure that this information matches the installments that have already been paid.

For example, if a customer's next billing date is Jan 1, 2023 and this is recurrence number 5, if he or she requests to pay two installments in advance, the next billing date will be on March 1, 2023 and this will be recurrence number 7.

  • Negotiation of Overdue Installments with Anticipated Payments

This hybrid option works exactly like installment anticipation, the difference being that the producer is simultaneously selecting both overdue and future installments.

How do I use it?

1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com/login

2. On the left side menu, go to Sales

3. On the right side, select the Subscriptions option

4. In the Reports section, click Subscriptions

5. Select the customer with whom you want to negotiate

6. Click on the three dots in the last column of the table (the column called Actions)

7. Access the Installment Negotiation option

8. The system will display the following screen for the chosen subscription:

9. Select the desired number of installments and, if desired, the discount that will be granted to the customer in this negotiation.

10. The system will display the sum of the installments in the subtotal, the discount amount when selected, and the total amount being negotiated. Review the amounts and, if everything is correct, click on Generate Payment Slip.

11. On the next screen, you’ll have the options of downloading the payment slip or sending it automatically to the customer.

12. If you choose to send it directly, the customer will receive the following email with the subject, Subscription Renegotiation.

Please note: When a negotiation is paid, the installments included in the agreement will no longer appear in the negotiation list. However, they will still be overdue in the system, but a negotiation purchase will exist with reference to each of the selected installments.

In case of a recurring payment that has already been paid in a negotiation, the system will automatically refund this purchase. If the purchase is paid via payment slip, an email will be sent to the buyer requesting the refund information.

Since the Producer is working with the course’s management, it will be up to him or her to release the access to the buyer, referring to the number of installments paid in the negotiation.

If the customer is paying two overdue installments and his or her subscription is monthly, you can give two months of access at the end of the subscription, for example.
