How to adjust the guarantee period for a product I created?

When you register a product on Hotmart, you'll set a guarantee period—the time buyers have to request a refund. On Hotmart, you can choose between 7, 15, 21, or 30 days.

Before adjusting your product’s guarantee period, it’s essential to understand some general guidelines to set it up correctly:

  • For products registered as Subscription, the selected guarantee period applies only to the first subscription charge, and not for automatic renewals. This means that the possibility of refund on a subscription is only available for the initial transaction of joining the product, as long as it is within the guarantee period.
  • For products registered as Online consulting services, the guarantee period is always 7 days. However, this product format is only available for sales in Brazil.
Important: If you sell your product in any European country, local regulations require a minimum 15-day guarantee period, regardless of product type or payment method. You also have the option to offer a 21 or 30-day guarantee.

To adjust the guarantee period for your product, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com.
  2. In the left menu, click Products and then My products.
  3. Select the product for which you want to adjust the guarantee period.
  4. In the side menu, click Pricing and offers.
  5. In the Deadline to request refund field, click Change and choose one of the available options.
  6. Click Save to apply the change.

Remember: If you mention the refund period on your sales page or other materials, such as emails or social media posts, be sure to update these to reflect the new guarantee period. This helps keep everything clear for your buyers and prevents potential misunderstandings.
