How do I set up the Taboola pixel in Hotmart?

If you advertise your products using Taboola, you can integrate the platform’s pixel with Hotmart to track important user actions throughout the purchase journey. What do I need to know before getting started?

Before setting up the integration, make sure that:

  • You have an active Taboola account.
  • The Taboola pixel is already installed and active on your account.
  • You know the ID of the product you want to track in Hotmart.

The product ID can be found in the product settings within the Hotmart platform.

 

How do I create a conversion in Taboola?

Before creating the conversion, have the ID of the product you want to track available. This number must be added to the end of the event name sent by Hotmart.

To track purchases or checkout visits, you’ll need to create an event-based conversion in Taboola. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Taboola account.
  2. Go to the Conversions section.
  3. Click New Conversion.
  4. Select the Event-Based Conversion option.
  5. Enter a name for the conversion.
  6. In the event field, use one of the following events:
    • hotmart_purchase_YOURPRODUCTID to track purchases.
    • hotmart_checkout_YOURPRODUCTID to track checkout visits.
  7. Complete the setup and save the conversion.

Once created, Taboola will begin recording the events received from Hotmart and displaying the data in the platform reports.

Important: Depending on traffic volume and Taboola’s processing time, events may take a few minutes to appear in reports.

 

How do I create an audience in Taboola?

You can also use the events sent by Hotmart to create audiences and run remarketing campaigns.

Before getting started, identify the ID of the product you want to track, as it will be required during the audience setup process in Taboola.

To create an audience, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Taboola account.
  2. Go to the Audiences section.
  3. Click New Audience.
  4. Select the Pixel option.
  5. Choose an Event-Based Audience.
  6. Enter a name for the audience.
  7. Define which event will be used:
    • hotmart_purchase_YOURPRODUCTID to create an audience of buyers.
    • hotmart_checkout_YOURPRODUCTID to create an audience of users who accessed the checkout page.
  8. Save the configuration.

The audience will begin populating as Taboola receives new events from Hotmart.

 

How do I find my Taboola account identifier?

To integrate Taboola with Hotmart, you do not need to copy the entire pixel code provided by Taboola.

How do I integrate Taboola with Hotmart?

  1. Access your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com.
  2. In the side menu, click Tools, then Show all.
  3. Search for Tracking Pixel.
  4. Select the product you want to configure.
  5. Then, select the Taboola option.
  6. Enter your Taboola account ID.
  7. Select the event types you want to track. At this stage, carefully review the advanced settings as well. Then click Continue.
  8. When finished, click Save.

From that point on, Hotmart will be able to send checkout and purchase events to your Taboola account.
