What is Cloudflare and how to set it up on Page Creator pages

In this tutorial, you'll learn what Cloudflare is and how to make your website more secure with its SSL protection.

Important: SSL is an encryption protocol designed to protect the data that flows between computer networks.

In practice, your pages will be considered safe by browsers, search engines, and social media sites. This is a very important process, as a website that is not secure can be blocked on social media and advertising platforms.

To avoid this, check out the step-by-step instructions on how to set up Cloudflare on your page.

How to create a Cloudflare account

To register at Cloudflare, just follow the steps below:

  1.     Access the Cloudflare website at https://www.cloudflare.com/
  2.     Click on Sign Up, fill in the requested data, and click on Create account
  3.     On the next screen, enter the page domain (without www or any other special character) that you want to secure and click on +Add site
  4.     Now, your website domain will appear at the top of the page. Click on it, select the free option and then click Continue

You’ll receive an email confirming your domain registration and, on the next screen, Cloudflare will automatically scan to find existing DNS records.

This means that if you have already pointed your domain to the Page Creator, it will continue to point without the need to change the settings. It also applies to any other domain pointing.

Subtitle: How to point your domain to the Page Creator

If you have not yet pointed the domain to the Page Creator, or if your domain is pointed to another host, follow the steps below to set it up.

It's very important to remember that a domain cannot be set up for two different hosts at the same time, ok? Let’s do this!

  1.     After adding the website to Cloudflare, click on Add record
  2.     Select CNAME in type
  3.     Enter @ in the name field (@ represents the domain)
  4.     In IPv4 address, enter the address proxy.klickpages.com.br
  5.     Click Save
  6.     Click Continue
  7. This step is very important! Cloudflare offers nameservers, and they need to be entered into your domain's DNS record, where your domain was purchased.

In some cases, nameservers may already be pointing to another host. In this case, we highly recommend that you contact this hosting service before switching to Cloudflare servers.

The path to change nameservers varies between the companies that sell domains, so you should contact yours to learn the best way to do it.

On the server screen, Cloudflare displays two unique nameservers. They must be inserted respecting this order.

  1.     After saving the nameservers in your domain configuration, click Done, check nameservers on the Cloudflare screen.

The new setup will be processed in up to 24 hours.

Because you have switched to Cloudflare nameservers, all subsequent updates to the domain's DNS will be carried out in Cloudflare.

  1.     On the next screen, Quick Start Guide, click Finish later.
  1. The Cloudflare setup is almost complete; now you just need to add some finishing touches.
  1. On the new screen, click on the SSL/TLS menu. By default, the Full option will be selected. Change it to Flexible.
  1. To finish, click on the Edge Certificates submenu, scroll down and activate the option Always use HTTPS.
  1. Click Overview to see if the nameservers have been updated.
  1. If the update is not processed within 24 hours, click the Check nameservers button. You can click this button before the 24 hours are up.

If they haven't been updated after this period, we recommend contacting your domain service to solve the issue.
