How to create a livestream in your Hotmart Members Area?
The Live feature allows you to host live streams for your students directly within your Members Area environment. This is an excellent way to offer bonus classes, Q&A sessions, and increase audience engagement with your content.
In this article, you will learn how to create, schedule, and manage these streams!
How do I create and schedule a live stream?
You can set up a live stream using external streaming or videoconferencing platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, Zoom, or Google Meet. You can add the live stream directly to your communities' schedule or inside a specific module of your course.
❯ To create and schedule the live stream via your schedule:
In the left side menu, click Products
and select Members Area.
In the internal left menu of your Members Area,
click Calender and then
Live.
Fill in the
"Where will the live stream take place?"
field by selecting your desired platform (Google
Meet,
Zoom, or Other) and paste the direct link to
your streaming
room.
Enter the live stream name and a description
with event
details.
If your stream is hosted on YouTube or Vimeo
and you want to make the recording available
on the platform,
turn on the switch
"Record the live stream and make it available after it ends".
Define where the live stream appears, choosing
whether
it
will be visible on the schedule of all Members
Area
communities or specific ones.
In the "When does it go live?"
field,
choose between "Start now" or
"On a specific date", setting
the
day and time for the stream.
To finish, click Create live stream.
❯ To add the live stream directly into a course module:
Access your Members Area and click the
Content tab.
Locate the module where you want to insert the stream.
Click Add and then
select Live.
Fill in the stream settings and save the
changes.
How do I start and manage my live stream?
In the stream dashboard inside Hotmart, you have resources to interact more closely with your audience during the event. To start the stream, follow these steps:
Start the stream first on your chosen streaming platform (such as YouTube, Vimeo, Meet, or Zoom).
Next, access your Members Area on Hotmart, go to Content, and locate the module where the live stream was created.
Click Access dashboard and then Start stream.
Enable the chat feature in the top right corner if you want to allow students to interact and send questions during class.
How do I add triggers to my live stream?
Triggers are links that remain highlighted and pinned on the chat screen during your stream. They serve to direct students to an external checkout page, offer other products, or pin an important message.
To configure a trigger, follow these steps:
Access the dashboard of your created live stream.
Click the Triggers tab and select New trigger.
Choose between External link (CTA) for clickable buttons or Highlight for pinned text messages.
Customize the text and button colors, and set whether there is a display time limit for this trigger.
Click Save changes and activate the trigger at the appropriate time during your stream.
Note:Only one trigger can be displayed at a time in the chat.
Frequently Asked Questions
❯ How do I make my live stream recording available?
The automatic recording feature using the switch "Record the live stream and make it available after it ends" is exclusive to streams hosted via YouTube and Vimeo (remember to enable recording directly on those platforms as well).
If you used other providers (such as Zoom or Google Meet), you need to record the event directly within the chosen tool and then share the recording link with students by creating a post in the community or adding content to a Members Area module.

Yes. To sell live class recordings, you can create additional modules within your existing product.
This way, you unlock the recordings for an extra fee and keep them centralized in the same Members Area.
❯ What is the maximum duration for a live stream?
The maximum allowed duration for a live stream set up via the schedule is up to 6 hours.
❯ What is the difference between a Live stream in the Members Area and the Webinar tool?
