How to change the internal domain of my account in Hotmart Pages?

In Hotmart Pages, there are different ways to define your page URLs. You can use an internal domain, which is free and provided by the platform itself, or set up a custom domain.

In this article, you’ll learn what the Hotmart Pages internal domain is, when it can be used, and how to change it step by step. You’ll also understand what happens after the change.

What is the Hotmart Pages internal domain?

The internal domain is a free address provided by Hotmart so you can create and publish your pages in Hotmart Pages, even if you don’t have a custom domain yet.

It follows a standard format, such as yourbrand.hotmart.host, and is made up of two elements:

  • A customizable name, which you can change (for example, yourbrand).
  • A fixed extension that cannot be modified: .hotmart.host.

This domain can be used as the main address for your project while you don’t have your own domain yet or while you haven’t finished setting up a custom domain.

If you already have your own domain, you can configure it in Hotmart Pages by following the guidelines available in the articles below:

How to change the internal domain of my account?

Changing the internal domain is mainly recommended when you want to adjust the name of your pages’ default address, either to better align it with your brand or to correct the project identification.

This change is made directly in the Hotmart Pages dashboard. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Access your Hotmart account via https://app.hotmart.com/
  2. In the side menu, click on Marketing and then on Page creator
  3. Inside Hotmart Pages, in the right-hand side menu, click on Domains.
  4. Click the Change button.
  5. A pop-up will appear. Enter the new name you want for the internal domain.
  6. Click Change and then Continue to confirm the update.

Once the process is complete, a success message will appear indicating that the internal domain has been changed.

It’s important to remember that this change affects the address of all pages published with the internal domain and requires some follow-up actions after the update.

What happens after changing the internal domain?

After changing the internal domain, all your pages must be republished so they are available under the new address. In addition, keep the following points in mind:

  • Old links will stop working after the change and republishing of the pages.
  • A new internal domain change can only be made after 30 days.

Therefore, before confirming the change, it’s recommended to plan the update of any links that have already been shared, such as on social media, ads, and external pages.
