How to activate captions on the product I purchased?

If you purchased a course on Hotmart and want to follow the lessons with subtitles or prefer to watch the content in another language through automatic translation, Hotmart Player offers these features in a simple way.

In this article, you’ll learn how to identify whether a video has subtitles available and the step-by-step process to enable them.

 

Where are captions available?

Currently, Hotmart allows the use of three types of players within Hotmart Club: our own Player, YouTube, and Vimeo.

However, the subtitle option depends exclusively on the creator’s settings, since they need to add subtitles to their videos for their students.

If the creator has not added subtitles, you can contact the creator’s support team directly.

How do I enable captions in my course?

To set up subtitle display while watching your lessons, follow the instructions below:

  1. Access https://consumer.hotmart.com.
  2. Open the product in the Hotmart members area.
  3. Start the video of the lesson you want.
  4. In the lower-right corner of the player, click the Subtitles icon.
  5. A list of available options will be displayed.
    • You can enable or disable subtitles.
    • Select the language from the options made available by the creator.
    • Customize the appearance of the subtitles.
  6. As soon as you enable subtitles, they will instantly appear on the screen.

 

How do I customize the appearance of captions?

You can also adjust the appearance of subtitles to make reading more comfortable according to your preference..

By clicking the Subtitles icon again and selecting Style, you can change the font color, background color, font size, and even the background opacity level of the subtitles. These adjustments help ensure that the text does not interfere with the visibility of important elements in the video.

I can’t find the subtitle option in my video. What should I do?

 If the subtitles icon is not appearing for you, this may be because the creator of the content chose not to enable subtitles.

Can I enable subtitles with external players?

Yes! But keep in mind, as mentioned earlier, subtitles are only available when the creator chooses to use subtitles in their videos.
