How do I set up the Outbrain pixel on Hotmart?

The Outbrain pixel allows you to track the performance of your campaigns and identify which ads are generating results for your business. By integrating Outbrain with Hotmart, you can record events related to the customer purchase journey and view this information directly in your advertising platform reports.

In this article, you will learn how to create conversions in Outbrain, locate your pixel ID, and complete the setup on Hotmart.

 

How do I create conversions in Outbrain?

The first step is to create the conversions that will be used to track the events sent by Hotmart.

  1. Log in to your Outbrain account.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Conversions.
  3. Click to add a conversion.
  4. Choose the URL-based conversion type.
  5. Configure the conversions you want to track.

To monitor your entire sales funnel, we recommend creating two conversions:

  • Checkout page access conversion: use the pattern /00000/outbrain/checkout and replace 00000 with the ID of your product registered on Hotmart.
  • Purchase conversion: use the pattern /00000/outbrain/purchase and replace 00000 with the ID of your product registered on Hotmart.

If you prefer to use a configuration that applies to all products, you can use the same patterns without adding the product ID. In other words, use /outbrain/checkout for checkout page visits and /outbrain/purchase for completed purchases.

After defining the URLs:

  1. Choose a name for each conversion.
  2. Set a conversion value if you want to measure revenue within Outbrain.
  3. Click to save your settings.

 

How do I find the pixel ID in Outbrain?

After creating the conversions:

  1. Go back to the Conversions area.
  2. Click the option to view the pixel.
  3. Locate the OB_ADV_ID variable within the displayed code.
  4. Copy only the identifier code, without quotation marks or additional characters.

This will be the ID used in your Hotmart setup.

 

How do I set up the pixel on Hotmart?

After copying the pixel ID, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Tools, then Show all.
  3. Select Tracking Pixel.
  4. Select the product that will receive the configuration.
  5. Then click the Outbrain option.
  6. Paste your pixel ID and click Continue.
  7. Select the event types you want to track. At this stage, carefully review the advanced settings as well. Then click Continue.
  8. Once finished, click Save.

After the setup is complete, Hotmart will begin sending compatible events to Outbrain.
