How do I earn points to reach the Top 5 in the course I purchased?

Gamification in the Hotmart members area (Hotmart Club) is an interactive feature designed to track your progress and reward your engagement throughout your course. Through a points system, you can monitor your performance and compete with your classmates on a student leaderboard.

In this article, you'll learn how the system calculates your score, when the leaderboard is updated, and how to access the Ranking.

 

How do I access the Ranking and view my rewards?

Some creators offer rewards to students as an incentive based on their performance in the course. These rewards are defined by the creator and, if available, can be viewed on the Points and Ranking page for the product you purchased.

To check whether you have any rewards available, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://consumer.hotmart.com/.
  2. Under My Purchases, select the product whose rewards you want to view.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click Points and Ranking.
  4. On the Points and Ranking page, you'll find the rules defined by the creator, your earned points, your ranking position, and any available rewards.
  5. In the Rewards section, you'll see all rewards enabled for the product. 
    Important: If this section isn't visible, it means the creator hasn't enabled the rewards feature for this product.
  6. Click View details to see all available rewards. Rewards can have three different statuses:
    • Locked: Rewards that haven't been unlocked yet because you haven't reached the required number of points.
    • Available: Rewards that are ready to be claimed but haven't been accessed yet.
    • Claimed: Rewards that you've already accessed and used.
  7. If there are rewards available, simply click Claim to access them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I earn points for lessons and community interactions completed before the ranking was launched?

No. Points are only counted from the moment the course creator activates the ranking.

Why didn't the lessons I watched generate points immediately?

The system compiles the activity of all students in the class and updates the overall leaderboard only once a day. 

Because of this, points earned from lessons watched today will only appear on your dashboard after the next scheduled system update.

What happens to my score if I cancel or pause my course?

If a student in one of the top positions on the leaderboard cancels their subscription or loses access to the product, the points they've already earned aren't immediately removed from the system. Their point history remains frozen at the exact value it had when the cancellation occurred. 

However, since they will no longer have access to the members area to complete new modules or interact in the community, their score will remain unchanged and will naturally be surpassed by other students who continue making progress.

Does progress in a Combo product earn points differently?

No. However, for products configured as a Combo, which include more than one course in a single purchase, you need to make sure you're completing the specific content for each associated product.

What should I do if my score seems stuck?

If you've already confirmed the 24-hour update period, verified that your activities were completed after gamification was launched, and your points still appear frozen or lower than expected, we recommend clearing your cache. Then, locate the most recent lessons that didn't generate points, uncheck the completion option, and mark them as completed again so the system can verify them once more.

How are my name and progress displayed to the rest of the class?

If your profile meets the requirements to rank among the top five students, your registered name and profile picture will be visible to other users who access the same members area.
