Finding a charge identified as Hotmart on your bank statement or credit card statement may raise questions, especially if you don't immediately remember making the purchase.
In most cases, this charge is related to a product purchased through the platform. Since Hotmart processes payments for thousands of digital products, the name displayed by your bank may not match the name of the course, subscription, or product you purchased.
In this article, you'll learn why this happens, how to verify the origin of the charge, and what information you'll need if you truly don't recognize it.
Why can a charge appear as "Hotmart" on my statement?
Hotmart is the platform responsible for processing payments for creators who sell online courses, e-books, events, subscriptions, and other digital products.
For this reason, your bank or card issuer may display the charge using the name Hotmart, even if the purchase was made through a creator's website, advertisement, or sales page.
In addition, some banks display only an abbreviated version of the product name. For example, a product called Learn to Become a Creator may appear on your statement as HTM*HT LEARNCREATOR.
This type of description is expected and, by itself, does not indicate an unauthorized charge.
What should I do before considering the charge to be unrecognized?
If you've found a Hotmart charge and don't remember making the purchase, we recommend checking a few things before contacting Support. Verify whether:
- You made a purchase within the last few days or weeks.
- You have an active subscription linked to the card used, with weekly, monthly, or annual recurring charges.
- Someone else authorized to use your card, such as a family member, made the purchase.
These checks often help identify the source of the charge and may eliminate the need to contact Support.
What should I do if I really don't recognize the charge?
If, after completing all the checks above, you determine that the purchase was not made by you, contact Hotmart Support using the Contact us button available at the bottom of this page.
When submitting your request, let us know that it's an unrecognized charge and provide the following information:
- Full name.
- Purchase date or an approximate date.
- The first 6 and last 4 digits of the card used.
- The card brand (Visa, Mastercard, Elo, among others).
This information allows our team to locate the transaction more quickly and investigate the case.
For your security, Hotmart requests only part of your card number. We will never ask for your full card number, security code (CVV), PIN, password, or any banking credentials.
In addition, all shared information is handled confidentially. Hotmart is PCI DSS (PCI Compliance) certified, one of the leading international security standards for electronic payments.
