When purchasing a subscription product, a recurring payment plan is established at the time of your purchase (it can be weekly, monthly, biannual, or annual). Payments will be made according to the agreed frequency, allowing you to keep your subscription active and enjoy your product.
When you make payments, you get full access to the product content. Our system automatically releases access based on the payments made, providing a simple and easy experience.
If, at any time, you wish to cancel your subscription, you can easily request cancellation within our system. However, it is important to highlight that cancellation does not imply a refund of the amount invested, but rather prevents future charges.
Step-by-step to cancel subscription
- Access the platform via the link https://consumer.hotmart.com and log in with your registered email and password.
- Under your purchases tab, click on the product you wish to cancel.
- Click on Configure payment.
- On the next screen, click on Cancel your subscription.
- Confirm the process by clicking Yes.
Important: The possibility of obtaining a subscription refund only applies to the initial purchase transaction, provided it is still within the guarantee period. If your transaction meets these requirements and you decide to request a refund after canceling your subscription, check the article How to request a refund for my purchase? for more information on the process.
Can there still be charges after cancellation?
In some cases, even after canceling your subscription, you may still see charges on your credit card statement. This happens depending on the payment method chosen at the time of purchase. Understand each scenario:
❯ Automatic renewal: Cancellation prevents charges for the next period. However, if your subscription has already renewed, cancellation does not automatically refund that charge.
❯ Remaining installments on credit card: If you split the plan total into installments (for example, an annual plan divided into 12 credit card payments), cancellation prevents the plan from renewing for the following year. However, remaining installments for the current year will continue to be charged on your card statement until fully paid.
❯ Smart Installments vs. Subscription: If you followed the step-by-step and the cancel option did not appear on the screen, your product may have been purchased using Smart Installments. In this option, the total product price was divided into fixed monthly payments and remaining installments cannot be canceled. Learn more in the article How does a Smart Installment plan work?.
❯ Automated Payments: If funds are insufficient on the charge date, the system attempts automatic retries up to 3 times over 7 days. While retry attempts are ongoing, the option to cancel is temporarily locked on screen. As soon as these attempts end, the button becomes available again.
